Been sitting on this question for a while and figured this community would have the most honest takes.

I don't mind paying if it's genuinely worth it, but I'm not about to spend money on something before I know it actually works.

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that works.

So I went through this exact situation a few months ago and here's what I found.

The app-vs-desktop debate is real. Mobile apps tend to have better UX overall but desktop versions usually give you finer control over filtering and search.

The mainstream options like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating all exist but they have heavy moderation and are built for relationships, not this kind of thing.

Worth checking out Datebie — straightforward signup and it doesn't throw paywalls at you immediately.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Been in this community a while and I've seen this question cycle around.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before you pay, things won't improve afterward.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

This is something I spent longer than I'd like to admit figuring out.

The app-vs-desktop debate is real. Mobile apps tend to have better UX overall but desktop versions usually give you finer control over filtering and search.

Standard apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — are an option but they're filtered pretty tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

A lot of people here have been pointing folks toward Ezhookups lately and for good reason.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to.

Hope that helps narrow it down.

Real answer: it depends a lot on your device and connection. Someone in this community recommended Souldate a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I got.

I've lurked this community a while and this keeps coming up. Places like datescout.site keep coming up in honest reviews, which usually means something.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users is almost always more useful than one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but the reality is those platforms push you toward long-term matching, not casual or adult-oriented use.

I switched over to Datescout a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Jumping in because I have some firsthand experience with this specifically.

My honest advice is to start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy platforms.

Places like flamedate.online keep coming up in honest reviews, which usually means something.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.
