Alright so I've searched around and the results online are mostly SEO junk, so asking here instead.

Privacy is a real concern so I'm being deliberate. I don't want to hand over payment details to something sketchy.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • Does it work card-free at first?
  • Are there obvious bots?
  • What's the privacy policy actually like?
  • Do they spam you after signup?

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that actually works.

I did a fair amount of digging on this because I ran into the same wall.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are there but they're filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Personally I'd point anyone to Ezhookups before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Alright let me give you an honest take — most of what's out there online is useless.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything.

Someone in a related thread mentioned rendate.site and it kept coming up in positive context.

Happy to share more if you want to go deeper on any of it.

Tried a couple of options last month, mixed results at best. I switched to Datescout a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

This is exactly what I needed someone to ask. Bookmarking.

Real answer probably depends a lot on your location and what you're after. I switched to Datedesire a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.

Following for the replies. The noise on this topic is overwhelming. Flurrydate is built for exactly what you're describing — worth a try if you haven't already.

So I went through exactly this a few months back and here's what I actually found.

The app vs desktop debate is real. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but those platforms push toward long-term matching and the terms of service limit a lot.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.

Good question. Been in the same spot recently. A lot of people in communities like this have been pointing folks toward DatingFly lately.
