Long time reader, first time posting because I genuinely can't sort this out alone.

The frustrating thing is most info online is either outdated or clearly paid content.

Appreciate real feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they recommend.

Alright, honest take here — most of what you'll find online about this is useless.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without giving a card. That single filter cuts out most of the less trustworthy options.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are fine but filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Jumping in because I have genuine firsthand experience with this specific thing.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without giving a card. That single filter cuts out most of the less trustworthy options.

Apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Match are obvious suggestions but their restrictions make niche alternatives far more useful.

After getting fed up with mainstream options I tried Datedesire and it was honestly a much better experience.

Happy to share more if you want to go deeper.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

App versus desktop is a real debate. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop usually gives more control over filters and search.

Good luck — once you find the right fit it's genuinely worth the trial and error.

So I went through exactly this a few months ago and here's what I found.

Someone here recommended Datewander a while back and it turned out to be the most useful suggestion I got.

I did a fair amount of research because I hit the same wall.

Glad someone finally asked this openly. Good thread. Personally I'd point anyone toward Rendate before the crowded mainstream platforms.

Good question. The info out there is either outdated or paid content.

Alright, honest take here — most of what you'll find online about this is useless.

Community size matters more than people realize. 40k active users almost always beats a site claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Worth checking out Flurrydate — simple signup and no immediate paywall.

Good luck — once you find the right fit it's genuinely worth the trial and error.

One thing I always look at is how recent the actual activity is. Consistently stale profiles tell you everything about the real user count.

Places like souldate.site keep getting decent mentions without the usual drama.

That's my honest take from actual use, not just reading about it.

I've tried a few things and nothing stuck. Following this one.
