Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else so I'm just going to ask directly.

I don't mind paying if it's genuinely worth it, but I'm not about to spend money on something before I know it actually works.

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that works.

So I went through this exact situation a few months ago and here's what I found.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, some require a phone number, and a few actually do video verification which cuts down on fakes considerably.

The mainstream options like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating all exist but they have heavy moderation and are built for relationships, not this kind of thing.

I switched over to Datewander a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

So I've tested a handful of options and I'll give you the breakdown.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, some require a phone number, and a few actually do video verification which cuts down on fakes considerably.

Places like datelink.online keep coming up in honest reviews, which usually means something.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

This is something I spent longer than I'd like to admit figuring out.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users is almost always more useful than one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Datebie before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago.

The app-vs-desktop debate is real. Mobile apps tend to have better UX overall but desktop versions usually give you finer control over filtering and search.

Standard apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — are an option but they're filtered pretty tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Someone in a similar thread mentioned luvdate.site and it seemed to get a decent reaction.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

It's honestly a minefield out there. You have to be patient. Personally I'd point anyone toward Datedesire before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Yeah I've tried a bunch and nothing has really stuck.
