Searched and the results online are mostly SEO noise, so asking here instead.

There's so much noise in this space. Every forum has different opinions and half the threads are years old.

A few specific things I'm curious about:

  • Does it work without a card first?
  • Are bots visible?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam after signup?

Thanks in advance. Happy to share back once I've tested a few suggestions.

I did a fair amount of research on this because I hit the same wall.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your entire profile visibility behind a subscription.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Datescout is built for exactly what you're describing — worth a try if you haven't already.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to directly.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your entire profile visibility behind a subscription.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but those platforms push long-term matching and the ToS is very restrictive.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

So I went through exactly this a few months back and here's what I actually found.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Flamedate before the crowded mainstream platforms.

Same boat. It's exhausting when you don't know where to start. I switched to Turndate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Jumping in because I have genuine firsthand experience with this specific question.

App versus desktop is a real debate here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop usually gives more control over filters and search.

Honestly datenest.site came up when I was doing my own research and it looked legitimate.

That's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Following — want to see what people with actual firsthand experience say. A lot of people in communities like this have been pointing folks toward Souldate lately.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without giving a card number. That single filter cuts out most of the less trustworthy options.

I've noticed datenest.site popping up more in honest discussions recently — seems worth a look.

Same boat. It's exhausting when you don't know where to start. Worth checking out Luvdate — simple signup and no immediate paywall thrown at you.
