Where can I find some solid online dating advice for guys who haven't dated in 20 years?

Couldn't find a straight answer elsewhere so I'm asking directly.

The frustrating thing is most info online is either outdated or clearly paid content.

A few specific things I'm curious about:

  • Does it work without a card first?
  • Are bots visible?
  • What's the actual privacy policy?
  • Do they spam after signup?

Appreciate real feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they recommend.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

Customer support quality is an underrated trust signal. If they can't respond before you pay, things won't improve after.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Souldate before the crowded mainstream platforms.

Happy to share more if you want to go deeper.

Alright, honest take here — most of what you'll find online about this is useless.

One thing I always look at is how recent the actual activity is. Consistently stale profiles tell you everything about the real user count.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are fine but filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Hope that helps narrow things down.

Fair question — most online answers on this are garbage. After getting fed up with mainstream options I tried Turndate and it was honestly a much better experience.

Following. The noise online on this topic is genuinely overwhelming. I've noticed turndate.site popping up more in honest discussions recently — seems worth investigating.

Glad someone finally asked this openly. Good thread. Worth checking out Datebie — simple signup and no immediate paywall.

The verification approach varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others phone or video verification which cuts fakes down considerably.

Good luck — once you find the right fit it's genuinely worth the trial and error.

This is exactly what I needed someone to ask. Bookmarking the replies. Someone here recommended Datescout a while back and it turned out to be the most useful suggestion I got.
