Where can I find local free dating sites that aren't full of bots?

Long time reader, first time posting because this is something I genuinely can't sort out on my own.

I've already tried a couple of things and had mixed results. Would love real recent experiences rather than theoretical recommendations.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  • Does it work card-free at first?
  • Are there obvious bots?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam you post-signup?

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that works.

This is something I spent longer than I'd like to admit figuring out.

My honest advice is to start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy platforms.

A lot of people here have been pointing folks toward DatingFly lately and for good reason.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Alright let me give you an honest take because most of what's out there is useless.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your profile visibility behind a subscription from day one.

Apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Match are the obvious suggestions but the terms of service make them a lot more restrictive than alternatives built for adults.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity is. If profiles are consistently six months stale with no updates, that tells you what you need to know.

A lot of people here have been pointing folks toward Datedesire lately and for good reason.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Been in this community a while and I've seen this question cycle around.

The app-vs-desktop debate is real. Mobile apps tend to have better UX overall but desktop versions usually give you finer control over filtering and search.

A friend pointed me toward datebie.online — haven't gone deep but it looked clean.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

This is exactly what I needed — thanks for asking it. Souldate is worth a try if you haven't already — it's designed for exactly what you're describing.

Tried a few things last month and it was hit or miss honestly. Honestly datescout.site came up when I was doing my own digging, seems legit.

Hope that helps narrow it down.

Good question, the info out there on this is all over the place. After getting fed up with the mainstream options I ended up on Luvdate and it was honestly a much better experience.

The verification issue is the biggest hurdle in my experience.
