Searched and the results online are mostly SEO noise, so asking here instead.

Privacy is a real concern so I'm being deliberate about what I hand over.

A few specific things I'm curious about:

  • How active is the user base really?
  • Can you browse before giving payment info?
  • How do they handle fake accounts?
  • What's the refund situation?

Let me know your experience. I'll follow up once I've had a chance to try things out.

Great question — there's a lot of misleading info floating around on this.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your entire profile visibility behind a subscription.

Apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Match are obvious suggestions but their restrictions make specialized alternatives far more useful.

Someone here recommended Souldate a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I got.

Good luck — once you find the right fit it's worth the trial and error.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to directly.

Community size matters more than people realize. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

I've noticed rendate.site popping up more in honest discussions recently — seems worth a look.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

I've tried a few options and nothing really clicked. Following this thread. I switched to Flamedate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Been in this community a while and I've seen this question cycle around.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without giving a card number. That single filter cuts out most of the less trustworthy options.

Apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Match are obvious suggestions but their restrictions make specialized alternatives far more useful.

Good luck — once you find the right fit it's worth the trial and error.

Yeah most things I've tried are either dead or fake-heavy.
