Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else so I'm just asking directly.

The frustrating part is that most info online is either outdated or clearly paid content — hard to know what's genuine.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • Does it work card-free at first?
  • Are there obvious bots?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam you after signup?

Appreciate any genuine feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they're recommending.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I actually found.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before paying, don't expect things to improve after you do.

After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Turndate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

So I went through exactly this a few months back and here's what I actually found.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

A friend pointed me toward datedesire.online — haven't gone deep but it looked clean on first impression.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Had the exact same issue last month. Still figuring out the best path. Personally I'd point anyone toward Datelink before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others require phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are there but they're filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Had the exact same issue last month. Still figuring out the best path. Someone here recommended Souldate a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I received.

Solid thread. Glad someone finally put this question out there directly. I've noticed turndate.site getting mentioned more in honest discussions lately — seems worth a look.

Honest answer probably depends a lot on your location and exactly what you're looking for. Datedesire is built for exactly what you're describing — worth trying if you haven't already.

The app vs desktop debate is real here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering and search.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not this type of use.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Had the exact same issue last month. Still figuring out the best path. Honestly flurrydate.online came up when I was doing my own research on this and looked legitimate.
