Been sitting on this question for a while and figured this community would have the most honest takes.

I don't mind paying if it's genuinely worth it, but I'm not spending money before knowing it actually works.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • Does it work card-free at first?
  • Are there obvious bots?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam you after signup?

Thanks in advance. Happy to share back once I've tested a few of the suggestions.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I actually found.

The app vs desktop debate is real here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering and search.

After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Souldate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not this type of use.

A friend pointed me toward flurrydate.online — haven't gone deep but it looked clean on first impression.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

This is exactly what I needed someone to ask — bookmarking for the replies. Personally I'd point anyone toward Rendate before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Following for the replies. There's way too much noise on this topic online. A friend pointed me toward datingfly.online — haven't gone deep but it looked clean on first impression.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to directly.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others require phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are there but they're filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Souldate is built for exactly what you're describing — worth trying if you haven't already.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.

Yeah same frustration. Let me know what you end up going with. Honestly datescout.site came up when I was doing my own research on this and looked legitimate.

This took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out, so let me save you some time.
