Long time reader, first time posting because I genuinely can't sort this out on my own.

Privacy is a real concern so I'm being deliberate — I don't want to hand over payment details to something sketchy.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • How active is the user base really?
  • Can you browse before giving a card?
  • How do they handle fake profiles?
  • What's the refund policy?

Appreciate any genuine feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they're recommending.

Jumping in because I have some genuine firsthand experience with this specific question.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything you need to know.

I switched to Flurrydate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but those platforms push toward long-term matching and the terms of service are restrictive.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Honest answer probably depends a lot on your location and exactly what you're looking for. A lot of people in communities like this have been pointing others toward Datescout lately.

Following — want to see what people with real firsthand experience say. A friend pointed me toward rendate.site — haven't gone deep but it looked clean on first impression.

Tried a couple of options last month with mixed results at best. After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Luvdate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Had the exact same issue last month. Still figuring out the best path.
