Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else so I'm just going to ask directly.

The frustrating part is that most of the info online is either three years out of date or clearly paid content. Hard to know what's genuine versus what's just trying to get a click.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  • Does it work card-free at first?
  • Are there obvious bots?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam you post-signup?

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that works.

I've done a fair amount of research here because I ran into the same wall.

My honest advice is to start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy platforms.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but the reality is those platforms push you toward long-term matching, not casual or adult-oriented use.

Someone in this community recommended Datelink a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I got.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

This is something I spent longer than I'd like to admit figuring out.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity is. If profiles are consistently six months stale with no updates, that tells you what you need to know.

Someone in a similar thread mentioned luvdate.site and it seemed to get a decent reaction.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Good question, the info out there on this is all over the place. A lot of people here have been pointing folks toward Ezhookups lately and for good reason.

Appreciate the post, this is a fair thing to bring up. A friend pointed me toward turndate.site — haven't gone deep but it looked clean.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to.

Datewander is worth a try if you haven't already — it's designed for exactly what you're describing.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Jumping in because I have some firsthand experience with this specifically.
