Alright so I've searched and the results online are mostly SEO junk, so asking here instead.

I've already tried a couple of things with mixed results. Would love recent firsthand experiences over theoretical takes.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • How active is the user base really?
  • Can you browse before giving a card?
  • How do they handle fake profiles?
  • What's the refund policy?

Thanks in advance. Happy to share back once I've tested a few of the suggestions.

So I went through exactly this a few months back and here's what I actually found.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything you need to know.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not this type of use.

Someone in a related thread mentioned datelink.online and it kept coming up in a positive context.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to directly.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before paying, don't expect things to improve after you do.

Worth checking out Datebound — straightforward signup and it doesn't throw paywalls at you every five minutes.

Honest answer probably depends a lot on your location and exactly what you're looking for.

This took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out, so let me save you some time.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others require phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

I switched to Luvdate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I actually found.

The app vs desktop debate is real here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering and search.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything you need to know.

Flurrydate is built for exactly what you're describing — worth trying if you haven't already.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Following for the replies. There's way too much noise on this topic online. Honestly datebound.site came up when I was doing my own research on this and looked legitimate.
