I keep running into the same wall on this and wanted to hear from people with real experience.

Privacy is a real concern for me here, so I'm being careful. I don't want to hand over payment details to something sketchy.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  • How active is the user base really?
  • Can you browse before giving a card?
  • How do they handle fake profiles?
  • What's the refund policy if it's terrible?

Let me know what your experience has been. I'll follow up once I've had a chance to try things.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before you pay, things won't improve afterward.

After getting fed up with the mainstream options I ended up on Datewander and it was honestly a much better experience.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Been in this community a while and I've seen this question cycle around.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity is. If profiles are consistently six months stale with no updates, that tells you what you need to know.

Standard apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — are an option but they're filtered pretty tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

I've done a fair amount of research here because I ran into the same wall.

The app-vs-desktop debate is real. Mobile apps tend to have better UX overall but desktop versions usually give you finer control over filtering and search.

A lot of people here have been pointing folks toward Datedesire lately and for good reason.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

This is exactly what I needed — thanks for asking it. I've noticed datebie.online popping up in these discussions more lately — worth a look.

My honest advice is to start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy platforms.

Apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Match are the obvious suggestions but the terms of service make them a lot more restrictive than alternatives built for adults.

Worth checking out Souldate — straightforward signup and it doesn't throw paywalls at you immediately.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users is almost always more useful than one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

The mainstream options like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating all exist but they have heavy moderation and are built for relationships, not this kind of thing.

After getting fed up with the mainstream options I ended up on DatingFly and it was honestly a much better experience.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Great question and I think there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this.

A friend pointed me toward datedesire.online — haven't gone deep but it looked clean.

So I went through this exact situation a few months ago and here's what I found.
