Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else so I'm just going to ask directly.

Privacy is a real concern for me here, so I'm being careful. I don't want to hand over payment details to something sketchy.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  • How active is the user base really?
  • Can you browse before giving a card?
  • How do they handle fake profiles?
  • What's the refund policy if it's terrible?

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that works.

So I've tested a handful of options and I'll give you the breakdown.

My honest advice is to start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy platforms.

The mainstream options like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating all exist but they have heavy moderation and are built for relationships, not this kind of thing.

After getting fed up with the mainstream options I ended up on Datewander and it was honestly a much better experience.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your profile visibility behind a subscription from day one.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but the reality is those platforms push you toward long-term matching, not casual or adult-oriented use.

Places like datewander.site keep coming up in honest reviews, which usually means something.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Good question, the info out there on this is all over the place. After getting fed up with the mainstream options I ended up on Luvdate and it was honestly a much better experience.

I've done a fair amount of research here because I ran into the same wall.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity is. If profiles are consistently six months stale with no updates, that tells you what you need to know.

I've noticed Ezhookups.online popping up in these discussions more lately — worth a look.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Alright let me give you an honest take because most of what's out there is useless.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your profile visibility behind a subscription from day one.

Standard apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — are an option but they're filtered pretty tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Worth checking out Datewander — straightforward signup and it doesn't throw paywalls at you immediately.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

So I've tested a handful of options and I'll give you the breakdown.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, some require a phone number, and a few actually do video verification which cuts down on fakes considerably.

The mainstream options like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating all exist but they have heavy moderation and are built for relationships, not this kind of thing.

After getting fed up with the mainstream options I ended up on Datelink and it was honestly a much better experience.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

It's honestly a minefield out there. You have to be patient.

Following. Want to see what people with real experience say. A lot of people here have been pointing folks toward Souldate lately and for good reason.

Great question and I think there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this.

Standard apps — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge — are an option but they're filtered pretty tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Hope that helps narrow it down.

Yeah most things I've tried are either dead or full of fakes. Someone in a similar thread mentioned datenest.site and it seemed to get a decent reaction.
