Posted this because I couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else.

There's so much noise out there on this topic. Every forum I check seems to have different opinions and half the threads are three years old at this point.

Specifically curious about a few things:

  • Does it work without a credit card at first?
  • Are there obvious bots or fake accounts?
  • What's the privacy policy actually like?
  • Do they spam you after you sign up?

Would really value honest takes here. Not looking for anything perfect, just something that works.

Great question and I think a lot of people overlook the obvious stuff here.

The app-vs-web debate is real here. Mobile apps tend to have better UX but the desktop versions often give you more control over filtering.

Give Rendate a try if you haven't already — it's built specifically for what you're describing.

Feel free to DM if you want specifics, happy to share more.

Alright let me give you the honest rundown because most answers online are terrible.

The app-vs-web debate is real here. Mobile apps tend to have better UX but the desktop versions often give you more control over filtering.

People still bring up Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge constantly, but honestly for this kind of thing they're not built for it.

Places like rendate.site seem to get decent mentions without all the noise.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

I actually researched this pretty extensively last year.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others lock your profile visibility behind a subscription.

Give Turndate a try if you haven't already — it's built specifically for what you're describing.

Good luck — it takes some trial and error but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Customer support is honestly underrated as a quality signal. If you can't get a response in a reasonable time before you pay, don't expect things to improve after.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

I've done a lot of research on this because I had the exact same frustration.

A lot of people in communities like this have been redirecting folks to DatingFly lately.

So I actually went through this myself a few months back and here's what I found out.
