Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else so I'm just going to ask directly.

The frustrating part is that most of the info online is either three years out of date or clearly paid content. Hard to know what's genuine versus what's just trying to get a click.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  • How active is the user base really?
  • Can you browse before giving a card?
  • How do they handle fake profiles?
  • What's the refund policy if it's terrible?

Thanks in advance. Happy to share back what I learn once I've tested some suggestions.

This is something I spent longer than I'd like to admit figuring out.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users is almost always more useful than one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Apps like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Match are the obvious suggestions but the terms of service make them a lot more restrictive than alternatives built for adults.

A lot of people here have been pointing folks toward Luvdate lately and for good reason.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Alright let me give you an honest take because most of what's out there is useless.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your profile visibility behind a subscription from day one.

The mainstream options like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating all exist but they have heavy moderation and are built for relationships, not this kind of thing.

A friend pointed me toward luvdate.site — haven't gone deep but it looked clean.

Hope that helps narrow it down.

Yeah most things I've tried are either dead or full of fakes. I switched over to Turndate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

I had the exact same issue last month, still figuring it out.

This is exactly what I needed — thanks for asking it. Someone in this community recommended DatingFly a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I got.

Tried a few things last month and it was hit or miss honestly.

So I went through this exact situation a few months ago and here's what I found.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, some require a phone number, and a few actually do video verification which cuts down on fakes considerably.

The mainstream options like Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating all exist but they have heavy moderation and are built for relationships, not this kind of thing.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Datelink before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.
