Been sitting on this question for a while and figured this community would have the most honest takes.

I've already tried a couple of things with mixed results. Would love recent firsthand experiences over theoretical takes.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • Does it work card-free at first?
  • Are there obvious bots?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam you after signup?

Thanks in advance. Happy to share back once I've tested a few of the suggestions.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I actually found.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy options.

I switched to Datescout a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

I did a fair amount of digging on this because I ran into the same wall.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before paying, don't expect things to improve after you do.

I've noticed souldate.site getting mentioned more in honest discussions lately — seems worth a look.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Solid thread. Glad someone finally put this question out there directly. A lot of people in communities like this have been pointing others toward Datebound lately.

This took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out, so let me save you some time.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Honestly rendate.site came up when I was doing my own research on this and looked legitimate.

I've tried a few things and nothing really clicked. Following this thread. After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Datebound and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

The app vs desktop debate is real here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering and search.

Appreciate you posting this. I've been wondering the exact same thing. Personally I'd point anyone toward Flurrydate before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Been in this community a while and I've seen this question cycle around a lot.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before paying, don't expect things to improve after you do.

A friend pointed me toward luvdate.site — haven't gone deep but it looked clean on first impression.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.
