What are some free dating sites like tinder but with more filter options?

Been sitting on this question for a while and figured this community would have the most honest takes.

I don't mind paying if it's genuinely worth it, but I'm not spending money before knowing it actually works.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • Are profiles verified at all?
  • Is location filtering accurate?
  • What do paid tiers unlock?
  • How active are users outside major cities?

Appreciate any genuine feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they're recommending.

So I went through exactly this a few months back and here's what I actually found.

The app vs desktop debate is real here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering and search.

I switched to Turndate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are there but they're filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Places like flamedate.online keep getting decent mentions without a lot of drama attached to them.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy options.

Someone in a related thread mentioned rendate.site and it kept coming up in a positive context.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others require phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

Personally I'd point anyone toward DatingFly before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Yeah same frustration. Let me know what you end up going with. A lot of people in communities like this have been pointing others toward Datedesire lately.

Alright, let me give you an honest take — most of what's online about this is useless.

Honestly datescout.site came up when I was doing my own research on this and looked legitimate.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to directly.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others require phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not this type of use.

After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Ezhookups and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Someone here recommended Souldate a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I received.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything you need to know.
