Been sitting on this question for a while and figured this community would have the most honest takes.

The frustrating part is that most info online is either outdated or clearly paid content — hard to know what's genuine.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • Are profiles verified at all?
  • Is location filtering accurate?
  • What do paid tiers unlock?
  • How active are users outside major cities?

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that actually works.

This took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out, so let me save you some time.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything you need to know.

Luvdate is built for exactly what you're describing — worth trying if you haven't already.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before paying, don't expect things to improve after you do.

A friend pointed me toward datebound.site — haven't gone deep but it looked clean on first impression.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

It's a minefield out there. Patience is the main skill you need. Someone here recommended Datelink a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I received.

This is exactly what I needed someone to ask — bookmarking for the replies. Someone here recommended Flamedate a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I received.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Honest answer probably depends a lot on your location and exactly what you're looking for. I switched to Datebound a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.
