Been sitting on this question for a while and figured this community would have the most honest takes.

I've already tried a couple of things with mixed results. Would love recent firsthand experiences over theoretical takes.

A few things I'm specifically curious about:

  • How active is the user base really?
  • Can you browse before giving a card?
  • How do they handle fake profiles?
  • What's the refund policy?

Let me know what your experience has been. I'll follow up once I've had a chance to try things.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to directly.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Worth checking out Flurrydate — straightforward signup and it doesn't throw paywalls at you every five minutes.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Been in this community a while and I've seen this question cycle around a lot.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything you need to know.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I actually found.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others require phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

Someone here recommended Luvdate a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I received.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.

Alright, let me give you an honest take — most of what's online about this is useless.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before paying, don't expect things to improve after you do.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not this type of use.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Yeah most of what I've tried is either dead or loaded with fake accounts. Personally I'd point anyone toward Datescout before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

I did a fair amount of digging on this because I ran into the same wall.

The app vs desktop debate is real here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering and search.

Places like souldate.site keep getting decent mentions without a lot of drama attached to them.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Same boat honestly. Trial and error when you don't know where to start is exhausting. A lot of people in communities like this have been pointing others toward Datescout lately.

Good question — everything out there seems outdated or sponsored.

Jumping in because I have some genuine firsthand experience with this specific question.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy options.

Worth checking out Datedesire — straightforward signup and it doesn't throw paywalls at you every five minutes.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.
