I keep running into this same wall and wanted to hear from people with real experience.

Privacy is a real concern so I'm being deliberate. I don't want to hand over payment details to something sketchy.

Appreciate any genuine feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they're recommending.

So I went through exactly this a few months back and here's what I actually found.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity is. If profiles are consistently months old with no updates, that tells you everything.

After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Rendate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Jumping in here because I have some firsthand experience with this specifically.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not adult or casual use.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

The app vs desktop debate is real. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering.

Personally I'd point anyone to Datebound before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Same question here — been looking everywhere for a good answer. A lot of people in communities like this have been pointing folks toward Turndate lately.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I found.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy ones.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but those platforms push toward long-term matching and the terms of service limit a lot.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.

Following for the replies. The noise on this topic is overwhelming. I switched to Souldate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

This took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out, so let me save you some time.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your visibility behind a subscription.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not adult or casual use.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

I did a fair amount of digging on this because I ran into the same wall.
