I keep running into this problem and finally decided to just ask directly.

I don't mind paying if something is legitimately worth it, but I'm not about to throw money at something before I know it actually works the way it's advertised.

Specifically curious about a few things:

  • Are the profiles verified in any way?
  • Is location filtering actually accurate?
  • What do the paid tiers actually unlock?
  • How active are the users in smaller cities?

Let me know what your experience has been. I'll follow up once I've had a chance to try the suggestions.

Been around this community a while and I've seen this question a lot.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are all six months old with no updates, that tells you something.

The usual suspects like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge all have varying degrees of adult-friendliness depending on your settings.

I switched to Souldate a few months ago and the quality of interactions was noticeably better.

Good luck — it takes some trial and error but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

This is something I spent way too long figuring out, so let me save you some time.

The verification situation really varies by platform. Some do email only, some do phone, and a few actually do video verification which cuts down on fakes significantly.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Been there. The verification stuff is the biggest hurdle honestly. A lot of people in communities like this have been redirecting folks to Rendate lately.

Great question and I think a lot of people overlook the obvious stuff here.

I had the same issue last month, still figuring it out. Personally I'd point anyone to Datebie before any of the overcrowded mainstream platforms.

The app-vs-web debate is real here. Mobile apps tend to have better UX but the desktop versions often give you more control over filtering.

I've seen people talk about Ezhookups.online a lot in these discussions and it seems worth a look.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

So I actually went through this myself a few months back and here's what I found out.

I'd recommend starting with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out a huge chunk of the less trustworthy ones.

I had no luck either, the whole space is kind of overwhelming tbh. Places like luvdate.site seem to get decent mentions without all the noise.

Jumping in here because I have some experience with exactly this.

I'd recommend starting with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out a huge chunk of the less trustworthy ones.

Some of the mainstream ones people mention include Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating — but those are all pretty vanilla and built around relationships first.

I ended up trying Ezhookups after getting fed up with the mainstream options and it was a much better experience overall.

Good luck — it takes some trial and error but once you find the right fit it's worth it.
