Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else so I'm just asking directly.

Privacy is a real concern so I'm being deliberate. I don't want to hand over payment details to something sketchy.

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that actually works.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I found.

The app vs desktop debate is real. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering.

Personally I'd point anyone to DatingFly before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others do phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are there but they're filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.

Had the same issue. Still figuring out the best path. After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Turndate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Alright let me give you an honest take — most of what's out there online is useless.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy ones.

Places like datenest.site keep getting decent mentions without a lot of drama around them.

Good luck — trial and error is real but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

Had the same issue. Still figuring out the best path. I switched to Datebound a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others do phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but those platforms push toward long-term matching and the terms of service limit a lot.

Happy to share more if you want to go deeper on any of it.

Appreciate you posting this. I've been wondering the same thing. Worth checking out Datebie — the signup is simple and it doesn't throw paywalls at you every five minutes.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — exist but they're moderated heavily and built around relationships, not adult or casual use.

Personally I'd point anyone to DatingFly before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Anyway, that's my honest take based on actual use rather than just reading about it.
