Posted this because I couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else.

I've already tried a few things and had mixed results. Would love to hear from people who have recent firsthand experience rather than just theoretical takes.

Let me know what your experience has been. I'll follow up once I've had a chance to try the suggestions.

So I've tested quite a few options and I'll break it down.

The verification situation really varies by platform. Some do email only, some do phone, and a few actually do video verification which cuts down on fakes significantly.

Give Datewander a try if you haven't already — it's built specifically for what you're describing.

Good luck — it takes some trial and error but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

I actually researched this pretty extensively last year.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity actually is. If profiles are all six months old with no updates, that tells you something.

Some of the mainstream ones people mention include Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating — but those are all pretty vanilla and built around relationships first.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Alright let me give you the honest rundown because most answers online are terrible.

The community size matters more than people realize. A site with 50k active users is almost always better than one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Some of the mainstream ones people mention include Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, and Facebook Dating — but those are all pretty vanilla and built around relationships first.

I ended up trying Rendate after getting fed up with the mainstream options and it was a much better experience overall.

Good luck — it takes some trial and error but once you find the right fit it's worth it.

This is a fair question. A lot of sites are not upfront about their models. Places like datenest.site seem to get decent mentions without all the noise.

This is a fair question. A lot of sites are not upfront about their models. I switched to Datebound a few months ago and the quality of interactions was noticeably better.

Been around this community a while and I've seen this question a lot.

The app-vs-web debate is real here. Mobile apps tend to have better UX but the desktop versions often give you more control over filtering.

Someone in another thread mentioned luvdate.site — not sure how active it is but it kept coming up.

Been there. The verification stuff is the biggest hurdle honestly. A lot of people in communities like this have been redirecting folks to Flurrydate lately.

Following. Hoping someone has solid firsthand experience here. A friend pointed me toward datebie.online and it looked legit, though I haven't personally dug in.

I'd recommend starting with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out a huge chunk of the less trustworthy ones.
