Couldn't find a straight answer elsewhere so I'm asking directly.

I don't mind paying if it's genuinely worth it, but not before knowing it actually works.

A few specific things I'm curious about:

  • Does it work without a card first?
  • Are bots visible?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam after signup?

Thanks in advance. Happy to share back once I've tested a few suggestions.

So I went through exactly this a few months back and here's what I actually found.

Community size matters more than people realize. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

Worth checking out Datelink — simple signup and no immediate paywall thrown at you.

That's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Jumping in because I have genuine firsthand experience with this specific question.

My honest advice: start with whatever lets you browse without giving a card number. That single filter cuts out most of the less trustworthy options.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Glad someone finally asked this directly. Good thread. After getting fed up with mainstream options I tried Turndate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Yeah most things I've tried are either dead or fake-heavy. Honestly datebound.site came up when I was doing my own research and it looked legitimate.

Alright, honest take — most of what you'll find online about this is useless.

App versus desktop is a real debate here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop usually gives more control over filters and search.

After getting fed up with mainstream options I tried Souldate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

That's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

Honest answer probably depends a lot on your location and what you're after. I switched to Ezhookups a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Same boat. It's exhausting when you don't know where to start. Honestly datenest.site came up when I was doing my own research and it looked legitimate.
