Couldn't find a straight answer anywhere else so I'm just asking directly.

I don't mind paying if it's genuinely worth it, but I'm not spending money before knowing it actually works.

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that actually works.

Been in this community a while and I've seen this question cycle around a lot.

The verification situation varies a lot by platform. Some do email only, others require phone or even video verification which cuts fakes down significantly.

Datedesire is built for exactly what you're describing — worth trying if you haven't already.

I did a fair amount of digging on this because I ran into the same wall.

The app vs desktop debate is real here. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop versions usually give you more control over filtering and search.

Following — want to see what people with real firsthand experience say. Someone here recommended Luvdate a while back and it turned out to be the most useful tip I received.

Following for the replies. There's way too much noise on this topic online. Someone in a related thread mentioned datenest.site and it kept coming up in a positive context.

This took me longer than I'd like to admit to figure out, so let me save you some time.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before paying, don't expect things to improve after you do.

Standard apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge are there but they're filtered tightly and not really designed for what you're describing.

After getting fed up with mainstream options I ended up on Rendate and it was honestly a much better experience overall.

Hope that helps narrow things down a bit.

Did a pretty thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I actually found.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your visibility behind a subscription from day one.

A friend pointed me toward flamedate.online — haven't gone deep but it looked clean on first impression.

Happy to share more specifics if you want to go deeper.

Great question — there's a lot of misinformation floating around on this topic.

Community size matters more than people think. A site with 40k active users almost always beats one claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

Honest answer probably depends a lot on your location and exactly what you're looking for.

It's a minefield out there. Patience is the main skill you need. I switched to Datescout a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

Had the exact same issue last month. Still figuring out the best path.
