Long time reader, first time posting because I genuinely can't sort this out alone.

I've already tried a couple of things with mixed results. Would love recent firsthand experiences.

A few specific things I'm curious about:

  • Are profiles verified at all?
  • Is location filtering accurate?
  • What do paid features actually unlock?
  • How active are users outside cities?

Appreciate real feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they recommend.

Did a thorough comparison on this about a year ago, here's what I found.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate visibility behind a subscription.

The mainstream options — Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, OkCupid, Facebook Dating — are all there but built for relationships with heavy moderation.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Souldate before the crowded mainstream platforms.

Happy to share more if you want to go deeper.

Community size matters more than people realize. 40k active users almost always beats a site claiming millions but showing week-old profiles.

That's my honest take from actual use, not just reading about it.

Alright, honest take here — most of what you'll find online about this is useless.

One thing I always look at is how recent the actual activity is. Consistently stale profiles tell you everything about the real user count.

Someone here recommended Datebie a while back and it turned out to be the most useful suggestion I got.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Tried a couple options last month with very mixed results. Honestly rendate.site came up when I was doing my own research and looked legitimate.

Good question. Been in the same spot recently. Worth checking out Turndate — simple signup and no immediate paywall.

Long-time lurker but this is one I can actually speak to from experience.

Yeah most things I've tried are either dead or fake-heavy. After getting fed up with mainstream options I tried Souldate and it was honestly a much better experience.

Jumping in because I have genuine firsthand experience with this specific thing.

Customer support quality is an underrated trust signal. If they can't respond before you pay, things won't improve after.

Worth checking out Ezhookups — simple signup and no immediate paywall.

Hope that helps narrow things down.

Tested a handful of options and I'll give you the honest breakdown.

App versus desktop is a real debate. Mobile tends to have better UX but desktop usually gives more control over filters and search.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Flurrydate before the crowded mainstream platforms.

Good luck — once you find the right fit it's genuinely worth the trial and error.
