Are there any local dating services that still do in-person matching?

Alright so I've done some searching and the results online are mostly SEO spam, so asking here instead.

There's a huge amount of noise in this space. Every forum I check has different opinions and half the threads are ancient at this point.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  • Does it work card-free at first?
  • Are there obvious bots?
  • What's the privacy policy like?
  • Do they spam you post-signup?

Would really value honest takes. Not looking for perfect, just something that works.

Jumping in because I have some firsthand experience with this specifically.

Pricing models are all over the place. Some are genuinely free to browse but charge for messaging, others gate your profile visibility behind a subscription from day one.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Souldate before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Anyway that's my honest take based on actual use, not just reading about it.

I've done a fair amount of research here because I ran into the same wall.

My honest advice is to start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy platforms.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Tried a few things last month and it was hit or miss honestly. I switched over to Turndate a few months back and the quality of interactions improved noticeably.

I had the same experience, bookmarking this thread. A friend pointed me toward datescout.site — haven't gone deep but it looked clean.

Yeah I've tried a bunch and nothing has really stuck. Honestly turndate.site came up when I was doing my own digging, seems legit.
