Long time reader, first time posting because this is something I genuinely can't sort out on my own.

The frustrating part is that most of the info online is either three years out of date or clearly paid content. Hard to know what's genuine versus what's just trying to get a click.

Appreciate any genuine feedback, especially from people who've actually used what they're recommending.

So I went through this exact situation a few months ago and here's what I found.

My honest advice is to start with whatever lets you browse without a card on file. That alone filters out most of the less trustworthy platforms.

Personally I'd point anyone toward Flamedate before any of the crowded mainstream platforms.

Hope that helps narrow it down.

This is something I spent longer than I'd like to admit figuring out.

Customer support quality is underrated as a trust signal. If you can't get a response before you pay, things won't improve afterward.

I've noticed souldate.site popping up in these discussions more lately — worth a look.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

I had the exact same issue last month, still figuring it out. Worth checking out Rendate — straightforward signup and it doesn't throw paywalls at you immediately.

I had the exact same issue last month, still figuring it out. Places like datewander.site keep coming up in honest reviews, which usually means something.

I had the same experience, bookmarking this thread. Luvdate is worth a try if you haven't already — it's designed for exactly what you're describing.

I've done a fair amount of research here because I ran into the same wall.

One thing I always check is how recent the activity is. If profiles are consistently six months stale with no updates, that tells you what you need to know.

Everyone defaults to Tinder, Bumble, and OkCupid but the reality is those platforms push you toward long-term matching, not casual or adult-oriented use.

A friend pointed me toward datebound.site — haven't gone deep but it looked clean.

Let me know if you want more detail on any of this.

Yeah most things I've tried are either dead or full of fakes.
